Windows play a crucial role in reducing a building’s heating consumption to. Besides the window’s basic energy performance, other factors to consider are:

U Values
A window’s U-value is the measurement given to the amount of heat allowed escaping through it, or its ability to keep in heat.
Glazing
Double glazing windows with low energy performance is standard with KALSUN , but a wealth of Additional options is also available. KALSUN will also supply triple glazed windows depending on the requirements for the energy performance
Some homes in the UK are exposed to high levels of outdoor noise from road traffic, aircraft, trains etc..
UK guidelines state that the noise level within a living area in a family home should not exceed 35dB.
KALSUN has a range of sound reducing solutions and can provide test documentation on the reduction of levels of unwanted noise.
Maintenance
KALSUN window systems are easy to use and maintain. Regular cleaning to the windows is all that is needed to maintain appearance. The external powder coated aluminium will withstand the harshest weather.
Washing with a solution of warm water and mild detergent. Surfaces should be cleaned with a soft cloth or sponge, and nothing harsher than natural bristle brushes.
Modification
Modifications and repairs are available including:
- Supply and installation of replacement double-glazed units
- Supply and installation of replacement components
- Repair of damaged wood frames or aluminium sashes
- Conversion of fixed windows to opening
- Retro-fitting of opening restrictors.
- Retro-fitting of electric motor openers
Condensation
Condensation on glass window panes is something that cannot be completely avoided, even if the building is well insulated or how efficient your double glazing windows are.
Condensation occurs when warm, moisture-laden air meets a cool surface such as glass – the change in temperature causes the moisture to condense onto that surface in the form of water droplets. Colder external temperatures during winter months combined with heated internal temperatures will result in larger amounts of condensation.
KALSUN Windows offer the ability to control natural ventilation in lots of ways. Manual opening windows or trickle vents, electric actuator operated windows, or smoke-vents. We can also provide acoustically attenuated trickle vents for facades overlooking busy area’s, which would be used in combination with specialist acoustic glazing.
